A post shared by Lana Lê (@woolypear)

Hello! Thanks for visiting my website. My name is Lana Lê, and I work under the alias woolypear, a pseudonym based on my name: Lana in Italian = wool, and Lê means pear in Vietnamese.

I love drawing people and offer live portrait drawing. See my instagram for my 60-second live portraits.

I’m a graphic designer and love designing books especially. An archive of my book design projects can be found here.

A few more things that I’m passionate about:

I organise drawing meet-ups and talks called Blend Illo for the Association of Illustrators in London – like this recent one – Illustration Experts AMA (ask me anything).

I’m a committee member (and social media officer) at LD Comics, a women-led comics forum – a comics community providing talks, residencies, and resources.

Additionally, I host Artist Chats, interviews with artists on the process of creating and making a career of it, live on instagram.

Kidcandoodle.com is a doodle club I created to encourage and celebrate drawing. I was inspired by my own kids’ drawings — I admire how fearlessly children draw, not worrying about whether it looks “right,” as we do when we get older.

Little Lana is a graphic novel memoir that I’m writing and drawing about my childhood. If you’re curious, you can get a peek here.

Thanks for taking a look at my work. I hope to “meet” you on instagram or twitter. Or drop me a note at woolypear [at] gmail [dot] com. I would love to hear from you.

Cheers!
